WAY TO GO GRACE!

We have had a fun week, er..not. 8 days and 5 x-rays later Gracie has FINALLY passed her nail (not a fingernail Tric). We went in for another x-ray today and it is no longer there so I must have missed it on my fun inspections (Not that I care). Dr Curtis did let us know that he measured it again and it was actually 1 1/2 inches long instead of an inch. Still don't know how she managed it but our friend Jeremy in X-ray told her to not eat anymore nails for breakfast, she agreed! Grace is just excited to not have to drink anymore prune juice!

MORE FIRSTS

I really have never considered myself a avid blogger but lately it seems I am mosting a lot. First day of preschool, first Dance, first Van. Here are a couple more firsts, both having to do with Grace and one not very exciting. Grace learned in about 10 minutes last week to ride a bike without training wheels. She did awesome. Once she finally stopped yelling at me about making Gid ride and she would just play with dolls, she said "I can do it myelf Mom, let go". talk about a leap of faith on both our parts but she did so so good. I still can't believe how the grow. As for the other first. My darling Grace decided at 8:00 last night to put a nail in her mouth and swallowed it. She came screaming to Brian and I. Once I figured out through the midst of howling that she swallowed a nail I did the typical mom thing and completly freaked out. Good thing I have a great husband to calm me and Grace down. After talking to 2 nurses in the ER and them telling me just to watch her, it should pass, they ran it by Dr Curtis, the Dr on call. Yup, he wanted us to come in. Since we were just getting ready to put kids in bed Grandma and Grandpa Taylor came to stay with Gid and Halle while we took her in (I was a complete woosie and could not hack going alone but refused to stay home). She had an Xray taken that showed a 1 inch nail just getting to her tummy. We get to go back today and tomorrow and possibly the next to get x-ray to make sure it passes and does not poke a hole in any organs. Gracie was a trouper, the Dr's and nurses awesome and I have to take back a few things I have said about Preston Hospital. I thought that by 4 1/2 they outgrew putting things in their mouths but Gracie always ceases to amaze me.

Primary Program

I am so proud of Gid and Grace! They had their 1st primary program today! They did awesome! They handled their part like pro's and did not need any help. I really worried Gracie would panic but she did awesome. Once her part was over she relaxed a ton and sang all the songs! Gid, was not even worried about his part but I did not see him sing a single word of a song. He just stood up there and looked super cute, he even found me twice and smiled and waved! Grace started her dance class thursday. She loved it. She just can't wait to go back next week. She loves her teacher and got to meet new friends. She looked to cute in her leotard and tights. She also wants to wear her dancing shoes everywhere (I am a tard and don't even know what the crap the shoes are called). She is just in heaven! Now if only I can get a baseball glove on her hand I might be in heaven! I just don't know if it will ever happen though! I still love the girl to death though!

Gids first hunting trip!

Gid got to go on his first elk hunt with his Dad and Uncle Chad. He went for 2 days and 2 nights. he could not stop smiling when he came back! He hiked over 2 miles by himself in one day. I think that is awesome for a 4 year old! He can't wait to go again. My how they grow up!

Goodbye Diesel, Hello Sally

A couple of months ago we traded in our my beloved Durango. We (meaning mostly me) have been driving around this huge truck. It is a Ford 350 diesel truck. The kids are to close and fight constantly and I have to climb into the truck to strap Halle in and Gid and Grace have a hard time strapping in themselves since the seats are so close. I like the truck just not a family Vehicle. Thursday we bought "Sally". Brian swore he would never buy a van and when he finally consented did not want to be reminded constantly what he was driving. Since Gid and Brian took off to go hunting right after we got Sally it was up to the girls and I to name her. The girls came up with Sally. Gid, when he got home was not a fan of the name Sally, he thougt it was silly so I told him he could name the truck. He came up with Diesel. How the kid even knows it is a dielsel truck is beyond me. I thought Gid would be a huge fan of the truck but since he found out that Sally has cool doors that slide by themselves I cant get any of the kids to ride with Brian.

1st day of Pre-school!

Gid and Grace started their first day of preschool! They were so excited and lots of nervous. Mom got to go to their first day of school with them and Dad took off work to play with Halle. They loved their teachers. Mrs Rosaline and Grandma Nanny. I think they will love it, just something new and scary. They do want to go back next week though! The kids ready to head out. Halle not to be left out got out her "pack pack". She loved swinging with dad and helping him install her bike seat!

Our little princess! She loved school but kinda blanked on everything with so many people around. Her job the first day of school was to be in charge of the number. She got to roll a dice and picked 9. She also moved the 9 ducks to the pond while everyone counted. The jobs rotate each week.

Gid enjoyed schools also. He was actually more talkative and comfortable than Grace (shocking huh). He picked his new tractor shirt and loves loves loves Grandma Nanny. His job was to take care of Dexter the class pet. it is a little dog that comes with 3 books to read. He has to keep Dexter happy and read him books. Since he has a twin sister they also gave Grace a Dexter and books to bring home. They take them everywhere and sleep with them. School should be good and Makes me realize how old I am. Yea, kinda freaks me out. I just don't want them to grow up.
