Gabbi turns 1

Our darling Gabbi Bo just turned one!  It has been the fastest year ever and we can't believe how much she has grown and learned.  She was walking at 10 months and is now running everywhere.  She did not want to cooperate for pictures so Dad had to help her.  She is such a sweet spirit in our home and everyone just loves her!  She does have a special gift.  She has her daddy wrapped around her tiny finger!  It melts my heart to see!  This girl LOVES her Dad. 

Her super cute super easy cake.  This cake took me 10 minutes total.  Gabbi has many nicknames but one is little miss sunshine or sunshine so thus she got a little miss Gabbi Bo cake (as little miss sunshine.)

Gabbs did not really understand all the fuss for her birthday but she did enjoy the cake.  It was fun to watch her lick the bowl out and she adores so many of her fun new toys!

One of her new toys was a princess rocking chair that Lisa and Trevor bought at a yard sale and fixed up and painted.  It is so cute and she LOVES it.

Starting to unwrap her baby doll from Grandma Nette and Grandpa Air.  She has other babies and she refused to play with them.   This baby however is hauled EVERYWHERE.  This is my go to toy when I go to the school to help in Halle's class.  It keeps her entertained for the full 1/2 hour we are there.  I guess Grandma Nette knows what little girls like!

  We took her in for her 1 year and she weighed 20.8 lbs which puts her in the 37% for weight.  She was 28.75 long which again is 37 %.  Her head was in the 95% but as soon as Dr. Brown walked into the room she would not stop howling so the head may be off a bit.  She still has nightmares about Dr. Brown and Dr. Labrum with the whole hospital stay.  We are waiting till February to go back and have another VCUG done on her to see if her reflux has healed itself or if she will require surgery so we keep praying.  We sure love this sweetie and are so blessed to have her in our home.   It makes me so happy to see how much the kids love her.  I was so worried since there is a huge age gap between the older 3 and Gabbi but they all still rush to be the first one home to play with their Bo Bo. 

Football 2015

Gid played his first day of football for the WS Jaguars.  He had a ball and got to play on the same team as cousin Owen.

He had so much fun and wants to play again next year.  He was so cute in his uniform.  He even was leaving practice one night in his pads and a younger girl talking to her friend said "wow, that boy has lots of muscles.

End of summer Hogle Zoo trip

The kids have been wanting to go to the zoo this summer and we had a hard time getting it done so we went before school started again.  We had so much fun and it was a beautiful day.  It is so much fun seeing the kids excited about seeing the animals.

Gabbi had to have Brian in the picture because the stationary gorilla totally freaked her out.

We just happened to be here when the staff decided to do a training seminar and let the public feed the giraffes and take pictures.  They loved it!  This was Halle feeding the giraffe.

Random Summer/Fall 2015

We had a super busy summer and did lots of fun things.  We went on RZR rides.  This is a picture of Gabbi's first RZR ride.  She actually really prefers the back with Hal instead of riding on my lap.  They sit in the back and hold hands.  So cute!

We went camping.  It was the most horrible camping experience we have ever had.  It rained the whole time and with Gabbi not walking yet this was not fun.  She wanted to be down and I would not let her play in the mud.  We pretty much spent the week in the tent reading.

We went to Willow Park with Taylor Cousins.  This time their was a man with a metal detector that showed the kids how it worked.  They thought it was awesome.

Crazy mornings

The kids love dressing Gabbi up, most of the time she is ok with this but not today. 

We went to the Air show.  Gid and Hal got to check out the black hawk helicopter.

We went to Grandma's craft fair and hung out with Grandma Blauer.

The fair had a man doing balloon animals.  The kids could pick anything they wanted and this man could make it.  They were trying to stump him but he did well.  Gid got a frog eating a fly, Gracie got a minion and Hal picked a penguin!

We went for a hike on the stokes nature trail with Taylor cousins again and got to play in the museum.

We tried rag curls on Gracie's hair.  She thought they were way cool.  She did not think they would curl well.  You should have seen her face when she saw how well they did!  We do this often now.

We threw some homework away we ended up needing later.  I had Halle go in after it and she got high centered trying to get her head back out.  We had a good laugh

When Brian took off work for 2 1/2 weeks to do potato harvest Gabbi and I would go down and eat lunch with him each day.  It was so much fun.

Brian was elected as the new Commander for the Search and Rescue for this year.  Chad was put in as the secretary. 

The kids had to run the mile this year for P.E.  They told the parents so we could go cheer them on.  Gracie was not happy about this because she walked for "5 seconds" last year and they made her run and extra lap.  When she was whining about it I told her "then don't walk." 

Gid flying through the mile.  The kid took off at a dead sprint and sprinted the whole first 2 laps then kind of tired out.  He did awesome and took 3rd in his whole class.  His time was 8:42.  I was so proud of him but he was upset when I came to tell him congratulations.  He was embarrassed that he had lost to girl who took 2nd place.  He thought someone would make fun of him.  I started laughing and said that everyone else in the class had lost to a girl also except the boy who took first.  This settled him down a bit but he was not really happy.  Funny boy!

The girl that Gid lost to was Grace.  I was (quite frankly) shocked.  She is not much of an outdoor girl but she ran the whole time and never once walked (which is more than I can say for 3/4 of the class).  She had a final time of 8:20!!  I was so proud of her.  She only lost to a boy in her class that pretty much writes Gracie a love note every day but turns bright red if Gracie even looks his direction.  So funny!  I was right proud of my young uns!
