Gid and Grace turn 9

Gracie and Gid had a whirlwind birthday.  They had their tonsils removed 1 week before their birthday.  On their birthday we celebrated with Football practice and a late cancelled baseball game.  The day after their birthday we left for Yellowstone.  Thus no birthday party on their birthday.  Grace had two of her best friends come over for a sleep over about 3 weeks after her birthday.  She had so much fun except the part where her friends told ghost stories about a human hand that would come and kill people.  Thus she is now freaked out to sleep downstairs.  She loved her birthday cake which was the same as Halle's ....rainbow.

We had a family movie night instead since the game was cancelled 1/2 hour before it was due to start.

Opening gifts.  She got some doll clothes for her doll, slippers, clothes and flip flops.  What more could a girl ask for.

Gid got a huge elk fat head.  He loves it and loves his room even more now.

We sure love these two sweeties.  They are awesome kids and I am so lucky to be their Mom.

Gabbis first vacation....Stein Ericksen

Gabbs had her first vacation.  We went for two days again to the Stein Ericksen Lodge in Park City.  We love going there and love the spacious room and hot tub.  It is always a plus to get a free vacation and get paid to go there!

I was called by the school secretary a few weeks ago to tell me Hal had chipped her two front teeth on the monkey bars and would need to see a dentist.  Yay, more medical bills!

Before the fix............and after.  She had her teeth shaved down and had a frenulectomy.  Gid had this and Gracie is getting one.  They have a lip tie that makes their teeth have a gap.  They cut the lip and it makes the teeth grow back together.  It worked wonders for Gid and we hope Halle's looks a great in 2 months!

Halle Bug turns 7

 Where did the last 7 years go?  I can't believe my bug is 7 years old.  She was so excited to have three friends come and play.  Jillian, Dayzee, Hal and Chloe.

 We had an insane month.  I decided to choose her cake this year so it was easy.  She had a fun rainbow cake and thought it was just awesome.

And then there were none

We took the kids to the dentist a while back.  He said Gracie needed her tonsils out because her teeth did not have enough room.  Since Gid and Hal are always getting sore throats and snore we decided to have them all checked and they all needed their tonsils removed.  We decided to get them done all at once.  A picture of Gid and Grace in their lovely hats and gowns. 

Hal just chilling before surgery.  She went first.  It was a rough half hour after surgery but after that the girl never stopped.  We had to tell her to stop running around when we got home.  She never whined or cried or anything.  She did however take full advantage of the popsicles and ice cream.  She is a wonder. 

Grace after surgery.  It again was rough so we called in reinforcements.  Tricia came and played with Hal while we were dealing with Gid and Grace who had a much harder recovery.  Grace cried quite a bit then fell asleep on her Dad.  She did not recover as quickly as Hal.  She refused to eat or drink much which I think is why she had such a hard time.

Then there was Gid.  The picture explains it all.  He puked a few times before leaving the hospital and had a hard time when we got home.  We did get through it though.  Mom came and kept Gabbi since we had to get up so early and be to Logan.  She stayed for a couple of days and played with the kids which they loved.  They were all back in school on Monday.  It is good we live so close to the school to run pain pills over when they were hurting. 

All done and on the road to recovery!  If we had to do it again we would do them all at once.  It was not even close to being as bad as everyone said.  They really did awesome!

Tender Heart

 

One day on the way to Becki's house to visit I turned on my I-pod and was letting the kids listen to some of my favorite songs.  I turned on the song the little girl by John Michael Montgomery.  I love this song and sang along.  When the song got over I looked in the rear view mirror to see Gracie sobbing in the back.  I asked her what was wrong and she said "that song is just so sad, I feel bad for that little girl".  I love that so much about our little Gracie Jewel.  She has the most tender heart and does not want to see anyone sad or hurt.  What a sweetie.  Love that girl so much!

New rooms

 This year with little Gabbi coming into our home we decided Gid especially needed his own room (even though he loved sharing a room with Gabbo).  We moved Grace and Gid downstairs and finished a room for each of them.  They got to pick their paint.  Gid (despite my attempts to keep the baseball room) decided he wanted a hunting room.  It was a way fun project and he loves the results.  This is a picture of his camo wall and camo desk decked out with hunters orange.  He has his picture of him and Grandpa with Grandpa's moose on the wall and his camo lamp from Grandma and Grandpa Blauer. 

 We decided to take an extra bed downstairs for now just to have when extra people are around.  It will eventually be Gabbo's bed. 

 For his birthday we bought Gid a fathead Elk.  He loves it! 

 He also got Bri's elk horn from this past year to hang his hats, gun and bow on!

 Gracie decided to just pick out fun colors that she loved.  She found a cute gray bedspread and picked her colors from there.  We also painted old furniture from other rooms to put in here.  The mirror, dresser and an old shelf Bri made me years ago we did not use anymore. 

 We spray painted the knobs on the dresser to match the coral on the wall.

 Because she has the bigger room Halle wanted Grace to take the barbi house downstairs. 

We also painted her bed gray from the upstairs green.  They have loved having their own space.
